Dream Session at Puyravaud Lakes!

I’ve been fishing in France now for over 20 years and Puyravaud as a fishing venue, either with the family or the lads, has to be rated as one of the very best in my opinion!

On this occasion, we visited Puyravaud Lakes whilst staying the cottage and fishing Heron Lake. We arrived in torrential rain which was forecast to continue into the middle of the first week. We started fishing on the Sunday around midday and after walking round the lake we decided to fish Gaz and Geezers.

My dream session then began, our first fish was a 61lb13oz mirror (first fish!!!!!!!!!). I was blown away! It got better after a lake record grass carp of 46lbs 9ozs, on our second day my first fish was a lake record 62lb6oz common which was also a PB common! Wow amazing with two sixties in the first day and a bit!

I could not believe what had happened in just two days and we continued to catch at an unbelievable rate. We fished just days only and from around 9.30am through 21.00. In the two weeks fishing we caught a total of 65 fish. The total included 4 different 60’s (5 in all) 9 different 50’s and 27 lovely 40’s.We only had 4 fish under 30lbs which is unbelievable in the whole session. Total weight was 2828lbs for an average weight of 43.5lbs – incredible!

Puyravaud’s accommodation is just as good as the fishing with everything you need during your stay.

Peter and Marion are top class hosts and go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Madison loved playing with the 2 dogs every day and feeding the cats.

Thanks again to Peter and Marion, our holiday at Puyravaud will never be forgotten and will probably never be beaten.
