Monday saw another bad storm hit the Charente – our third of this year!

Sadly, this one took out one of our oldest oak trees, over 100 years old. The tree toppled into next doors garden and butted up against their house. Luckily the damage looks to be just a few roof tiles and some guttering and thankfully no-one was injured. Normally Floyd, their Breton Spaniel would have been sat right where the tree landed, but the neighbours were away.

This will definitely take some professional clearing and we are going to have to re-build a large portion of a what was a very old wall!

The challenges of running a carp fishery – sometimes not all about the fishing!
